Be Remarkable

Posted by Philip Smith on 1 June 2013

>Be Remarkable

.....or Be the Same as everybody else...

To be successful in business today, requires many skills and even though they are all important, we believe the most important single underlying element, to be Imagination.

No Innovation is possible without imagination and it has been said that imagination is more important than knowledge.

With Imagination, one can acquire knowledge, but with no imagination, however much knowledge we have, by itself, it will be of limited value.

  • Knowledge alone, invariably creates complexity in interpretation.
  • Unless we make ourselves and our businesses remarkable in the eyes of our customers, we will continue to exist on the margin of our chosen industries.
  • With Imagination, and Action,  Innovation becomes a key that unlocks the potential we all have in our businesses.
    • Unfortunately Innovation and its twin, Simplicity, are two elusive elements.
  • We allface the challenge to track down and implementing these elusive elements.

Our Goal

• To assist  individuals and organizations, who believe in their own abilities and are prepared to explore the discomfort of change.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Happy New Year

Posted by Philip Smith on 2 January 2013

Happy New Year to everybody

And so the new year has arrived.

Here we are in our best stepping out gear, well intentioned and ready to commit to all manner of resolutions.

Caution, the euphoria will wear off by next week and two weeks later you are likely to feel a bit disappointed  that your new years resolutions are not tracking as well as you thought they might.

Don’t panic – this is normal and a good lesson for all of us.

Each year we partake of this tradition of promising ourselves that we will change some habit we have decided we no longer like, or gain a new habit that will provide some positive outcome.

Rarely do we achieve  these resolutions, yet next year we will have another go.

The good news is that it is not important how many times you fail, what matters is how many times you try.

Instead of a bunch of resolutions at the beginning of a new year, maybe you can try making one resolution each month.

Get going and keep going.

It takes Time

Slow down to win

We have reached the end of another year and a time to reflect on what has worked for us and where we struggled to make headway.

Having spent a considerable amount of time working with clients directly this past year there is one issue that stands out.

Everybody is running, involved in many tasks and somehow running out of time. Some expert recently told me that time management is the issue and even if it is not,  the concept "time management" is so entrenched that it remains the focus of many.

The answer is a lot simpler in our experience : The real problem is Task management, how well we allocate time to completeing the Tasks  that makes a diffenece and in the end saves time.

Please if you do nothing else, make the time to slow down and get organized for the new year.

Can we handle the truth

Posted on 11 September 2012

Now at the start of a new year I feel compelled to say it as it is.

Can we handle the truth ?

Whatever our current circumstance - it is a direct result of what we have Thought and Done up till today.

Our future depends on what we Think and Do from this point on.

It is really as simple as that.

We are all creatures of habit and our habits govern our behaviour. To change out lives we have to examine our habits and the resulting behaviour and then be brave enough to make a decision to change those habits that are holding us back.

Change is uncomfortable and without a real commitment and effort, your life will simply continue as before.

We know that everybody is capable of change, but only very few are prepared to make the commitment to pay the price and suffer the associated discomfort.

To succeed we have to slow down, make time and commit to invest time in ourselves.

We become what we think, and we achieve by the actions resulting from our thoughts, it is simply a matter of choice .

Good with your choices, we know you can do it.
